Maternal and Child Hospital of Mexicali Offers Flu Vaccines for Pregnant Women and Children

The Hospital has a vaccination module in which the application is carried out from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

MEXICALI.– The Maternal and Child Hospital of Mexicali calls on pregnant women about the importance of taking additional measures to protect their health and that of their babies during this stage, since the immune system is compromised. José Rojas Serrato, director of the hospital, explained that this makes them more susceptible to viral infections such as influenza, which can lead to serious complications.

To provide extra protection, it is essential to get a flu vaccine. Vaccination reduces the risks of hospitalization or death from this respiratory condition, especially important for pregnant women, since influenza can turn into pneumonia and affect the development of the baby.

In addition, the vaccine provides protective antibodies that are transmitted to the baby through the placenta, offering certain defenses in the first months of life. It also helps protect the family by reducing the risk of the pregnant woman contracting influenza and transmitting it to those around her.

At the Maternal and Child Hospital of Mexicali, the vaccination module is available from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. The vaccine is also offered for girls and boys ages 1 to 5, people over 65 years of age, and those with conditions that affect their immune system.
