Matějka will be the third Pilsen player to perform in Budějovice

Forward Lukáš Matějka is leaving Pilsen for a one-year guest appearance in České Budějovice. He will be the third Victoria player on loan at Dynamo, after the Nigerian Ubong Ekpai and Pavel Šulc, who extended the contract with the West Bohemian club as well as Matějka until 2023.

In the last year of the second league, Matějka was a guest in Ústí nad Labem and with 16 goals he was the second best scorer of the competition. The 22-year-old striker, in preparation, intervened in two of Victoria’s four matches and scored a goal for Budějovice. He worked in the South Bohemian team Matějka already in the 2016/17 season, when he scored one goal in 11 matches.

“Lukáš proved last season in the second league that he made a huge progress. He was one of the top scorers in the competition and spoke out loud about the chance in Victoria. He also proved his quality in the summer training and now is the right time good luck in hosting Dynamo and we will definitely watch it carefully, “ stated the general manager of Pilsen Adolf Šádek for the club website.

Another Pilsen offspring, Šulc, is waiting for the first competition start for the Viktoria A-team. He has already performed in the second league Jihlava, Opava and České Budějovice, where he extended his engagement. The 19-year-old offensive midfielder played 26 matches in the highest competition, in which he scored two goals and three assists.
