June 14th. It is the day marked on the calendar for the Spanish National Team to debut in the Eurocup. It was on May 24 when Luis Enrique unveiled the final list of Spain, which will not include Mikel Merino from Navarra but Cesar Azpilicueta, who last Saturday lifted the Champions League cup with Chelsea. The competition will begin on June 11 with the confrontation between Turkey and Italy.
The Eurocup is going to be held in 12 different cities in 12 different countries.
The decision to expand the number of Eurocup venues to encompass the continent rather than just one or two host countries was taken by the UEFA Executive Committee in 2012 as a way to celebrate the tournament’s 60th anniversary. FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who was then UEFA general secretary, explained that “instead of having a party in one country, we will have a party throughout Europe.”
The final EURO 2021 (July 11) will be held at Wembley Stadium in London. The venue, amicably known as ‘La Casa del Fútbol’, will also host the semifinals of the tournament.
Spain will debut on June 14 at 9:00 p.m. in Seville. These are the schedules of the group stage matches:
