The visitors were the first to make themselves known in a match that was cautious on both sides. In the fifth minute, Iván from Karvin finished off after an individual action, but the goalkeeper Šípoš from České Budějovice saved his attempt for a corner. Most of Dynamo’s offensive actions were led by Alli, who had a decent opportunity in the 18th minute, but the Karvina goalkeeper Holec made a save. České Budějovice kept a clean sheet for the first time in this year’s top competition. They did not lose against Karvina for the sixth time out of the seven mutual league duels to date. Slezáné remain the only team that has not yet won a point away from home in the season.
