check The UFC veteran is making his 30th match in the circus

Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier (29-8) meets Benoit “God of War” St.Denis (13-1). Dustin is a future legend who has been in the UFC for 13 years, faced the toughest, won the interim title and is now making his 30th fight in the organization. He is liked by most and is not only a skilled fighter but also a person who actively contributes to his home state of Louisiana by running “The Good Fight Foundation”. Where he collects donations that directly benefit the community.

As a fighter, Poirier is complete, but it’s his boxing that stands out. In recent years, he has developed a lot in that area. He is coming off a knockout loss to Justin Gaethje last summer and the 35-year-old himself has hinted that he is nearing the end of his fighting career.

Benoit St.Denis made his UFC debut in October 2021 where he suffered his first loss via decision. He has since moved down to lightweight where he has finished his last five bouts before the second round even came to an end. He lives up to his nickname “God of War” as he chases finishes from the first moment of the match and so far has all wins via finishes. There is no doubt that he faces a tough test in Poirier. With Dustin ranked 3rd and Benoit in 12th so it’s an incredible opportunity for St.Denis to show off.

This match is also difficult to predict. With his experience, Dustin should be able to handle the challenges that Benoit presents. Because many times we have seen new fighters fly up a little too fast and then fall. An important factor is the hunger, Benoit wants to achieve what Dustin has already done. While Dustin may have started to think about his future and a life after his career. The heart says “The Diamond” while the brain believes in “God of War”.

check Everyone wants to meet Jake Paul?

Tony “El cucuy” Ferguson (25-10), the former interim UFC lightweight champion, is the latest in a line of fighters looking to challenge Jake Paul to a boxing match.

– I turn to Jake Paul, I would love to fight you, Tony said when he was a guest on the Jaxxon podcast.

Ferguson was once unstoppable and his opponents usually left the cage badly beaten, overwhelmed by his aggressive and unconventional style.

With a winning streak of twelve victories, he was booked to face Justin Gaethje. This time the roles were reversed as Tony stepped out of the cage battered. Since then, he hasn’t been the same. Now he has instead lined up seven straight losses and today the fans are asking the now 40-year-old Tony to retire.

It would not have been a fair match. I don’t want to see him go out like that, Tony’s a good guy, Jake Paul replied.
Some fighters don’t realize when it’s time to hang up the gloves. Tony himself says he will keep at it until the wheels fall off.

On Thursday, the news was released that Jake Paul will face Mike Tyson in a match that will be broadcast on Netflix on July 20.

check Boxing match with MMA finish

Polish MMA fighter Marcin Sianos made his boxing debut on Saturday against undefeated boxer Artur Bizewski.

In the second round, Marcin Sianos got in a nice series of combinations on Artur, but that’s where the heartbreak came. Sianos followed this up with a takedown and mounted, where he began sending elbows at his opponent. It would have been an excellent performance if it had been an MMA match, but now it was boxing rules that applied.

The referee stopped the match and Sianos is disqualified, leading him to leave the arena to angry boos from the crowd.

check Champion for the third time

Titleing a triple champion is rare in MMA, but Anatoly “Sladkiy” Malykhin (14-0) accomplished the feat this weekend by capturing his third belt in the ONE FC organization. The light heavyweight belt was on the line when he faced Reinier “The Dutch Knight” de Ridder (16-2), whom Anatoly defeated in December 2022 to take the heavyweight title from him. This time the match was broken in the third round, which resulted in Anatoly now taking both belts from de Ridder and is the only one to win over him in MMA.

It is impressive to say the least that a fighter manages to take three titles and also remain undefeated in his MMA career. It will be exciting to see who he faces next. The dream scenario would have been to see him against a top 5 UFC fighter in one of the weight classes in which he is champion.

check The title match

Champion Sean “Sugar” O’Malley (17-1) faces Marlon “Chito” Vera (23-8-1) for the bantamweight title at UFC 299 this weekend. This is a rematch and Marlon is the only one with a win over the champion at the moment.

The first meeting took place in August 2020 and the match ended already in the first round with Vera as the winner via TKO. Marlon effectively used his calf kicks, causing Sean’s foot to give way and he could no longer stand on it. This technique has become very popular as the kick can prick a nerve which paralyzes the foot for a short time. It’s like fighting with a leg. Sean fell and Vera let loose with the punches, becoming the first to defeat the hyped O’Malley. Since his win against Sean, Marlon has gone seven matches where he lost two by decision.

Sean himself claims that he is mentally undefeated and that Vera did not win that match. Over the years, Sean has hinted that maybe Vera has earned herself to meet him again. A lot has happened since their first meeting, and for Sean to take the title is an impressive feat, especially considering that he won against opponents who were considered his kryptonite.

Both fighters prefer to stand and trade blows, which makes it an interesting title match but also a hard tipped one. Sean is a skilled counter fighter, as we saw when he won the title against Aljamain Sterling. Marlon’s boxing is also at a high level, and he is adept at reading his opponent to find openings for finishes. However, this can be a high-risk game because Vera has a tendency to lose the first rounds while analyzing his opponent. Now there are five laps but falling behind from the start is no advantage.

I’m not saying with any great certainty that Sean will retain the title, but I’m leaning that way. If Vera manages to land with her leg kicks early in the first round then we could very well see a repeat of their first meeting.
