All is well for Novak Djokovic. After more than a month without playing, the world number 1 has visibly lost none of his supreme confidence. His entry into contention against the promising Jannik Sinner, finalist of the first Masters 1000 of the year in Miami, looked like the perfect trap for a recovery but he did not fall into it, far from it. Very impressive to defeat his young rival (6-4, 6-2), he therefore had many reasons to smile and appeared relaxed in front of the press, ready to answer all questions, even the most delicate. -said those which do not directly concern his irreproachable performances on the court.
Among the (slight) annoyances thus appear among others the recent declarations of his father Srdjan, never the last when it comes to defending his son, even if it means being outrageous. Srdjan Djokovic’s volcanic character has repeatedly tarnished his son’s image with the general public, without their relationship suffering. Because “Nole” knows it, if he became one of the greatest players in the history of tennis, he also owes it to his father who made many sacrifices to make his dream come true.
