What is a refugee and what stories do they carry, even when they are well integrated? What is and can a documentary be? These questions are met in Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s fabulously well-told “Escape” which won the jury prize at the Sundance Festival in January. Since then, it has won at festivals around the world. The film should be obvious as nominated for an Oscar for best animated film. In my opinion, it should also be nominated in the class for best film and best documentary.
