Triathlete Andrée-Anne Dumont from Pohénégamook performed at a very high level in Augusta, Maine, on Sunday July 31. Despite the oppressive heat, the athlete finished her half-Ironman triathlon in 3rd place among women, ahead of more than 400 participants, all categories combined.
Andrée-Anne Dumont recorded a time of 4 hours and 49 minutes. She recorded a swimming time (1.9 km) of 25 minutes and 32 seconds and a cycling time, over a distance of 80 km, of 2 hours and 42 minutes. She concluded her journey by crossing the 21 kilometers of race in 1 hour and 36 minutes.
This performance also allowed him to record the 2nd best time in his age category of 25-39 years.
The triathlete will now prepare for the World Triathlon Championships which will take place on October 29, in Utah, United States.
