MasterChef Bulgaria Season 8 Winner and Finalists Revealed

Research assistant Marianna Alexandrova is the big winner in the eighth season of the culinary competition “MasterChef”. In addition to the prestigious title and the much-desired plaque for the best hobby chef in Bulgaria, which she received from the jury – chef Ilian Kustev, chef Alexander Taralezhkov and Yavor Sarafov, the girl from Varna also won the prize of BGN 100,000.

“During “MasterChef” I tempered my character. I had many ups and downs, less downs and I became a much more resistant person to stress, to emotions. This is the biggest adventure of my entire life. I will never forget it.” shared the excited winner.

Although she was not a favorite of her competitors and they sent her to a total of seven eliminations throughout the competition, Marianne managed to earn three immunity badges and one master apron. The brunette was also the first to qualify for the grand final.

The three-course menu that she prepared in the final for the jury was presented as “the gastronomic identity of the city of Varna”. It included a Black Sea soup for starters, turbot for main, which was declared her best dish ever in the competition, and “Varna cake” for dessert, which featured zucchini, the story line of her entire menu.

27-year-old Osman was the only man who managed to survive the female kingdom that conquered “MasterChef” and reach the final of the competition. In the competition, he won five team games, received an immunity badge and two master aprons.

In front of the jury at the final, the former boxer announced that he will present a “walk in the forest” – dishes that are typical of the region where he grew up – the village of Breznica, Gotse Delchev. For his “Balkan Sarma” appetizer, he won a lot of praise, with chef Kustev describing his dish as “phenomenal.” The main – venison with mushrooms and noodles, also brought him the congratulations of the competent jury. The dessert, a chocolate cake “Forest log”, although it was interesting, came a little too much as a presentation of chef Taralezhkov, and it was also quite heavy for him.

“I am grateful to my family for raising me and raising me to be who I am. I represented myself in all this cooking.” were Osman’s last words.

The translator from Plovdiv, Bilyana Stamova, also failed to win the “MasterChef” title.

“I can’t describe the pride I feel – of myself, of my loved ones and above all of the way I performed in this competition.” Biliana stated.

The “Plovdiv Fury” was pointed out as a favorite by the other participants and during the competition won four immunities and a master’s apron.

She announced that the menu she had prepared for the finale was named “Elder, cinnamon and fig” and personified the region of the Plovdiv neighborhood where she grew up. Her starter – smoked mackerel with tomatoes and elderberry – did not win much praise from the jury. Her main course, pigeon fillet with sauerkraut, although atypical, was a hit. Her “fig extravaganza” dessert also received some criticism.

In the studio, the three finalists were supported by their relatives, who did not stop encouraging them during the intense competition. Of course, among those present were all the participants from this year’s “MasterChef” season, who were eliminated in the individual stages of the competition.
