The Master Park Sang Chul Foundation proceeded last weekend at the Military Prytaneum of Libreville to the second phase of the kukkiwon graduation ceremony for athletes who passed their ranks in 2018 on the sidelines of the Korean New Year celebration from February 11 to 13.
The health crisis forcing a gathering of up to thirty people, it is therefore by wave that these athletes are awarded. Started on January 23 with the first wave, place this weekend in the second wave which recorded a dozen athletes, eight guests, five staff members as well as some members of the press invited to cover the event.
Kikkiwon diplomas ranging from first Dan to fourth Dan which now authorize the latter to wear the black belt legally. A color symbol of maturity and wisdom in the practice of this Korean martial art.
Obtaining a Dan is sanctioned by a passage of grade “SHO DAN” in both theoretical (general culture of taekwondo) and practical fields such as pooms, self-defense, arbitration rules, combat techniques, kyokpa (heists) and many others.
This ceremony was the occasion to celebrate the Lunar New Year which is the most important holiday for Koreans called “Sed” a celebration during which the ancestors are honored, to dress in Seolbim, in hanbok (special Korean garment). ), to present his respect to the elders by a curtsy, then the elders send their wishes of happiness to the younger ones by giving them a pouch with ritual money to which the master Park Sang Chul (Sebae-don) complied . He gave the youngest athletes an envelope wishing them the best for this year.
The 2018 promotion therefore saw around fifty new officers. The next appointment is given to those of 2019 in the next few months.
