The Hsinchu District Court sentenced Chen to 8 years in prison for the crime of forced indecency and required her to pay 1.2 million yuan in civil compensation.
The judge investigated and found that on August 19 of the year before last, Lin and Chen made an appointment to have dinner at a restaurant in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County. When Chen left her seat and went to the bathroom, Lin maliciously poured unknown drugs into the drink that Chen drank and was provided by the store. After drinking the hot cassia seed tea, Ms. Chen immediately felt dizzy and uncomfortable, lying on the table unconscious. When Mr. Lin saw the effect of the medicine, he drove Ms. Chen back to her rental apartment and took advantage of it while she was staying in the apartment. When Ms. Chen was unconscious, she ignored her resistance by kicking her feet and forcibly took off her underwear and took pictures of her lower body with her mobile phone.
The next day, Ms. Chen woke up still feeling unwell, with blurred vision and general weakness. She felt something strange, so she went to the restaurant to check the surveillance video. She was surprised to find that she had been drugged and lost consciousness, so she called the police.
Because the circumstances of Lin’s crime seriously affected her body and mind, Ms. Chen was in great pain, suffered an indelible shadow, cried all day long, and even had a tendency to commit suicide.
