Around sixty bishops, 800 choristers, 57,000 faithful, an unprecedented mass will be celebrated in Marseille on Saturday September 23. At 4:15 p.m., Pope Francis will preside over the celebration in the city’s emblematic sports venue, at the end of his two-day visit to the Phoenician city, on the occasion of the third Mediterranean meetings.

At least 100,000 people will be present on the popemobile’s strolling route on Avenue du Prado 2. Five giant screens will be installed on the one-kilometer route between Borely Park and Rond-Point-du-Prado.
The public is recommended to take position on site from 9:30 a.m. when security checks are put in place.
The security agents deployed will proceed to pat down and open the bags. People who arrive before the checks will have to leave the perimeter to go through the security check.
The channels are changing their programs to follow this exceptional event. France 2 will cover the papal visit from 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. From 3:00 p.m., a special edition “The Pope in Marseille”presented by Julian Bugier will allow you to follow the stroll of the papamobile and the mass co-broadcast live on franceinfo (channel 27) and TV5 Monde.
The Catholic Channel WHO will be on the air from 4:02 p.m. to follow the mass live.
The Christian community radio of Marseille Dialogue RCF will also be at the heart of the event with a round table at 3:00 p.m. followed by live broadcast from the stadium.
