Massive train cancellations around Mainz

Due to a short-term staff shortage in the Mainz-Bischofsheim signal box, there will be impairments in long-distance traffic until 8 p.m. today. This is reported by Deutsche Bahn.

As the railway reports, stops and partial failures must be expected. The following connections are affected:

  • ICE Wiesbaden – Frankfurt (M) – Erfurt – Leipzig – Dresden: The trains between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden are canceled.

  • ICE, IC Hamburg – Bremen/Dortmund – Cologne – Frankfurt (M) – Nuremberg – Passau/Vienna: The stops at Mainz Hauptbahnhof and Frankfurt Airport are no longer available. Alternatively, the trains stop in Mainz-Mombach.

  • The ICE 927 and ICE 928 trains do not have an alternative stop in Mombach.

Also failures in the S-Bahn traffic

As the “Frankfurt New Press“reported, there will also be massive failures in S-Bahn traffic on all lines (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8 and S9) on Sunday. The trains only run every 30 minutes. The reason for this is also cases of illness among the staff.
