Faced with the government’s attempt to break the refiners’ strike through requisitions, a large solidarity rally took place on Friday March 24, in Le Havre, at the call of the CGT Total Normandie and the Network for the general strike. On Wednesday, the Prefect of Seine-Maritime announced the requisition of workers from the Total Normandy refinery. Faced with this attempt to break the strike, a support rally was called by the CGT Total Normandie and the Network for the General Strike on Friday March 24 to oppose the requisitions.
Many local sectors were present in support: workers from the CIM oil depot, Chevron, garbage collectors from Le Havre, dockers, workers from Safran, the Paluel nuclear power plant, or even activists from the UL CGT from Le Havre and Harfleur. As well as a delegation from Paris, organized by the Network for the general strike bringing together workers from the RATP, SNCF, La Poste, education, as well as a large number of students and several personalities.
