This afternoon – December 16, 2023 – the Gedempte Gracht in Zaandam was the scene of a demonstration for Palestine.
Palestinian flags dominated the demonstration, and Turkish and Dutch flags were also carried. The demonstrators were addressed from the bandstand in the middle of the Gedempte Gracht.
Demonstrators were expressly called to demonstrate with children because the action was mainly intended to draw attention to the Palestinian children in the conflict.
Op 26th of October there was also a large demonstration in the evening that went via the Stadhuisplein, the Gedempte Gracht to the Castle.
