Celaya, Gto. September 29, 2023. The Gto Health System intensified the application of 29,950 vaccines, during the Campaign to Mitigate the Backlog of Vaccination Schemes against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), 2023 in the eight municipalities that comprise Sanitary Jurisdiction III of Celaya.
Daniel Díaz Martínez, head of the SSG, indicated that there will be a total of 29,950 doses of HPV, which provides specific protection against Human Papillomavirus, initiating fifth and sixth grade girls into the scheme.
Girls in first year of secondary school and girls aged 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 who are not enrolled in the education system.
Díaz Martínez highlighted that the campaign runs until November 15, starting with the application of a single dose of the HPV vaccine, which provides specific protection against the human papillomavirus, he emphasized that according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), 70% of cervical cancer is associated with this virus, hence the importance of vaccinating girls early.
The work is carried out in inter-institutional coordination, with ISSSTE and IMSS participating, with the SSG being the governing institution of the activity.
The Secretary of Health reported that the activities are carried out in all units of the health sector and in the facilities of primary and secondary schools in the jurisdiction area.
He urged parents to participate, going with their daughters to the health units, presenting their national health card, CURP and/or with already signed informed consent.
