Massive Fuel Warehouse Fire Causes Hysteria in Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra

Video clip showing the fuel storage warehouse in Panai Hilir District, Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra, burned viral. The explosion made the residents hysterical.

Reported detikSumatra, Sunday (11/6), the video is 1 minute 14 seconds long. There was a blaze that devoured a warehouse. A number of residents screamed hysterically until they cried.

“Dozens of tons of subsidized fuel and a tronton truck caught fire at the Labuhanbatu warehouse. The incident took place on Sunday (11/6/2023) around 08.30 WIB,” wrote the video narration.



“Initially the incident occurred when a tronton truck allegedly containing dozens of tons of subsidized fuel of the Pertalite type was about to unload its cargo at a warehouse belonging to a resident named Fatwa. Unloading the cargo using a pumping machine of the Robin and Sanyo type. It was suspected that a short circuit occurred from the Robin engine which caused a fire. No “There were fatalities as a result of the incident. However, it is estimated that one unit of permanent housing was burnt to the ground, a car mechanic, cash, 16 tons of Pertalite oil and diesel were burnt and a loss of IDR 950 million,” continued the video narrative.

Kasat Reskim Labuhanbatu Police AKP Rusdi Marzuki confirmed the incident. He said his party had deployed personnel to check the cause of the fire.

“The fire is still being investigated. The cause is also being investigated. These members are on the road. Further information will be notified later,” he said.
