Razvozhayev said that initial suspicions indicated the fire was started by a drone strike. It is not known for certain who was responsible for the drone strike.



“A fuel tank caught fire… According to initial reports, a drone strike may have caused the fire,” Razvozhayev said in a statement, quoted by the news agency. TASS.

Razvozhayev further stated that the burning fuel tanks were in the Cossack Bay area. He added that a quick response team was working at the scene to put out the fire.

“This is a Class 4 fire. Information on the number of fatalities is being updated,” he added.

Video footage circulating on social media showed large flames engulfing fuel storage tanks and thick black smoke rising into the air.
