A fire broke out on an agricultural farm west of the cathedral city this Wednesday evening. A dark column of smoke, which can be seen from afar, has formed over the affected area.
According to initial information, a large warehouse that belongs to the Clarenhof estate is said to be on fire.
Numerous emergency services are on site. The Nina warning app has been activated, which means that the fire may cause unpleasant odors and smoke.

“Health impairments cannot be ruled out,” it said. Residents should keep windows and doors closed as a precaution.
The police pointed out that Aachener Straße between Bonnstraße and Mühlenweg remains closed while the fire department is on duty.
Bonnstrasse is also affected by closures from the Hospitalstrasse intersection and the Frechen-Nord junction on the A4. Road users should avoid the area.
It was initially not known how long the extinguishing work was expected to last.
