The alert is given this Saturday, August 5, at 10:51 a.m. The roof of an elegant pavilion located rue du Château, in the hamlet of Calembourg, in Laumesfeld, is on fire. An important emergency device is then engaged, coming from the barracks of Boulay, Sierck-les-Bains, Bouzonville, Florange and Thionville. Twenty-one firefighters in total are dispatched to the scene to fight against the progression of the fire, which first broke out on the right side of the house, where the solar panels were positioned. The flames then spread to the central part, to then start the left wing, less affected. The damage is considerable.
The four inhabitants, a couple and their two children, who were present in the house at the time of the events, will be relocated with the family. An investigation and an expertise will be carried out to shed light on the causes of this disaster.
