Russian media reports a massive drone attack. The first official source to report on drones was the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin in social networks.
The information was later confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of Russia. Total for the whole night 20 drones were shot down. Another nine of them were taken down over Moscow, Tulsk, Kaluga and Bryansk regionsafter 11 drones were previously reported.
Later in the list of attacked areas Ministry of Defense added and Smolensk region. Vasiliy Anokhin, the regional governor, announced on social networks that according to preliminary data there were no casualties.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin earlier called the drone attack massive.
Ukraine did not comment on the information. However, yesterday, on the Day of Honor for the Victims of the Holodomor, Kyiv was under attack of more than fifty kamikaze drones, as well as more than 20 to other areas of the country – the biggest attack, as the authorities said, since the beginning of the war.
In the wee hours of the day, the Moscow airports “Vnukovo” and “Domodedovo” temporarily suspended the reception and dispatch of planes.
The governor of Tula region Alexey Dyumin reported that a drone crashed into an apartment block. In total, there were two drones over the area, which were neutralized by air defense. One of them, in case of loss of control, crashed into the apartment block, Interfax quoted the governor as saying. However, the block was not seriously damaged, one person was slightly injured by broken glass.
The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, announced a two-wave drone attack.
