Massive Arsenal of Illegal Weapons Discovered in Medellín Apartment: Police Investigation Reveals Shocking Details

In an operation led by the Criminal Investigation Section of the Aburrá Valley Metropolitan Police, a considerable arsenal of weapons was discovered in an apartment located in the El Poblado area, southeast of Medellín.

The investigation began after receiving a complaint about the existence of a weapons ‘warehouse’ in the area.

The police raid revealed that the owner of the apartment, a veterinarian whose identity has not been disclosed, illegally stored a total of 25 firearms, including 13 shotguns, 8 pistols, several revolvers, 632 cartridges, 8 suppliers and other related accessories.

According to authorities, the individual was unable to provide clear details about the origin and purpose of this impressive arsenal.

So far, it has not been possible to determine if any of these weapons were involved in homicide cases in Medellín and the Aburrá Valley, although the investigation is still ongoing in the crime laboratories of the Metropolitan Police and the Attorney General’s Office. .

“There are 25 weapons that could have been used or in the future used in criminal acts against any crime and, above all, that affects life. That is the teamwork and coordination that is done with the institutions,” said José Acevedo, secretary of Security and Coexistence of Medellín.

The detained individual faces charges for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, as well as accessories, parts and ammunition. A guarantee control judge issued his security measure in a prison center.

During this year, the Metropolitan Police has managed to seize a total of 734 firearms in the 10 municipalities of the Aburrá Valley, as part of its efforts to combat illicit arms trafficking in the region.
