A huge reactor weighing 1,500 tons was stuck on a road in Lithuania due to high temperatures and hot asphalt, while it was being transported from the port of Klaipeda to the Mazikiai oil refinery in the north of the country.
This road is dotted with a variety of terrains, which makes the trek risky.
Presumably in these cases, transport agents meticulously plan each part of the journey, taking into account variables such as weather conditions, population density, and infrastructure safety.
According to Kristina Gindvili, a spokeswoman for Orlin Lietova, the operator of the refinery, the reactor is expected to arrive on time on August 18, despite the delay.
The reactor is 100 meters long, 6.5 meters wide and 10 meters high. The reactor will be used to modernize the Mazikiye oil refinery.
