This former Proximus employee, with Eleven since 2019, succeeds Guillaume Collard who left to lead RTL Belgium.

Guillaume Collard left to succeed Philippe Delusinne at the head of RTL Belgium, his position as CEO of the Belgian subsidiary ofEleven Sports was vacant. As with Guillaume Collard at the time, the group of sports channels chose, according to our information, an internal solution in the person of Massimo D’Amario.

Aged 47, this graduate in management economics from Fucam in Mons experienced a course very comparable to that of its predecessor. Like him, he worked at Approximate with the same functions, those of responsible for the acquisition of rights, the sports strategy and the production of the channels of the semi-public operator via the entity Skynet iMotion Activities.

Massimo D’Amario has had a career very similar to that of his predecessor.

He has joined Eleven Sports in 2019 as the new Head of Business Development and Sponsorship in Belgium and Luxembourg, succeeding in this position to Guillaume Collard who was appointed CEO at the time.

This appointment comes on the eve of the new season of the Belgian football championship which begins next Friday, and for which, as a reminder, Eleven Sports holds the media rights until 2025, for 100 million euros per season. The group also owns the rights to most major European leagues (with the exception of the English Premier League). The acquisition of the rights to Belgian football in 2020 had enabled Eleven Sports to quintuple its income in Belgium during the 2020-2021 financial year, with a turnover increasing to 123.7 million euros.
