The Ministry of Health will begin starting tomorrow the mass vaccination of people who were born between 1942 and 1946, and between 1956 and 1961. The call will be made according to age criteria, starting with the oldest.
Those born between 1942 and 1946, about 90,000 people in Galicia, will receive the vaccine from Pfizer; and those born between 1956 and 1961, about 55,000, that of AstraZeneca. All of them will be summoned by SMS, and there will be a call from the summons teams on Wednesday, only for those who have not confirmed the appointment by SMS.
Throughout the community there will be 14 vaccination points, two of them will be in the health area of Pontevedra-Salnés. It will be in the Pontevedra Exhibition Center and in the Fexdega area in Vilagarcía. At both points, a few 9,000 vaccines from Pfizer and 5,350 from AztraZeneca, total 14,350 vaccines during this week.
At the Pontevedra Fairgrounds for tomorrow afternoon 1,500 people have been summoned, and in the following days 2,400 people each day. And in the Fexdega Campus an average of 600 people will be cited per day who will be attended by two health teams.
In the sanitary area of Santiago-Barbanza the vaccination will be carried out at the facilities of the City of Culture and at the Hospital del Barbanza. In total, 14,600 people will be vaccinated with Pfizer, and 9,200 with AstraZeneca.
And also Tomorrow the Xunta’s Clinical Committee will meet to analyze the evolution of the pandemic, and approve new restrictions in municipalities with a higher incidence of infections. In the Pontevedra-Salnés health area, Sanxenxo is currently the municipality with the most restrictions given that it is at the high level, although there is a clear decrease in the number of patients.
my It is in the middle level of restrictions with more than 10 cases. But above all, the evolution of O Grove with 36 active cases, and Illa de Arousa with the appearance of an outbreak. Especially O Grove could have more severe restrictions.
In the Santiago-Barbanza-Deza health area, the situation in the municipality of A Pobra is of particular concern, which has added 30 cases in 7 days.
