Jakarta –
Mass shooting happened again in United States of America. At least 22 people died in shootings in the city of Lewiston, Maine on Wednesday (25/10) evening local time. Police said the shooter was still at large.
City Councilman Robert McCarthy told CNN that the death toll had risen to 22 in shootings that occurred at a bowling alley, as well as at at least one other location, a local restaurant and bar.
“My understanding is that they have a tentative identification… of the shooter at the bowling alley, confirmed 22 dead, many more injured,” McCarthy said, quoted by the news agency AFPThursday (26/10/2023).
The local police uploaded a photo of the perpetrator shooting on Facebook carrying a semi-automatic weapon inside a bowling alley.
The man was wearing a brown top, blue trousers and brown shoes, and police asked anyone with information about his identity to contact them immediately.
They also released an image of a white SUV, and asked for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle, saying the front bumper may be painted black.
“We encourage all businesses to lockdown and/or close while we investigate. The suspect remains at large,” the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department wrote on Facebook.
