Mass layoffs of 900 employees via Zoom, Boss: I did the wrong execution

Better.com has fired 900 employees via Zoom. The company’s CEO, Vishal Garg also felt like a failure. He admitted that his actions did not appreciate the contribution of employees while working.

This was conveyed through a letter issued on December 7, 2021, in which the public was excited about the mass layoffs a few days ago.

“I failed to show proper respect and appreciation for the affected individuals and their contributions to Better,” the letter read CNN, Thursday (9/12/2021).

He explained that he really wanted to do layoffs. However, the dismissal made through Zoom was recognized as an execution error.

“I had the decision to lay off, but in communicating it, I committed an execution error. Doing so, I embarrass you,” he continued.

For information, a few days ago Vishal Garg laid off about 9% of its workers. He announced the sacking at a Zoom webinar on Wednesday local time. The layoff was carried out suddenly, the narrative announced that the 900 employees invited on Zoom would be fired.

“If you receive this call, you are the one who will be dismissed,” Garg said on Zoom.
