SAN ANTONIO – The City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) will host a mass vaccination event to protect the community against the flu as temperatures continue to drop and the holiday festivities begin.
According to authorities, anyone six months or older is eligible to receive the vaccine annually. “Pregnant women and people with underlying health conditions are encouraged to seek protection as soon as possible,” the statement read.
The event will only include free flu shots while supplies last. The mass vaccination event is open to the public and will accept walk-ins.
The event will take place this Wednesday, October 25 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Alamodome, South Gate Entrance 24 & 25 located at 100 Montana St, San Antonio.
Officials indicated that if people cannot attend this event, there are still a variety of options to get a flu vaccine.
“Metro Health continues to work with community agencies to host weekly pop-up vaccination clinics and offer the most up-to-date vaccines. No appointments are necessary,” the statement read.
You can find a list of available clinics on the Metro Health website. The community can call 210-207-8894 to schedule an appointment.
