Things have been pretty quiet around the Mass Effect franchise for the past few years. After the somewhat lukewarm reception of Mass Effect Andromeda, the Mass Effect franchise seemed to fall into hibernation. Now, after four 4 years of silence, there is finally some kind of new addition to the franchise. Jelle, a gigantic Mass Effect fan, and Koos, who has never played the games, but really wants to do so, have been able to take a look at this edition together. A legendary Trilogy, now with a new twist
It has been almost fourteen years since the first Mass Effect game came out. And although the entire Trilogy is considered one of the best game trilogies ever, you cannot say that every game has passed the time as well. Especially with the first game you will notice that it no longer plays optimally, compared to more recent games. And that is normal. After all, game development is progressing. Hopefully Mass Effect Legendary Edition will make the first game a bit more modern so that it is more in line with the two sequels. This would make the entire trilogy feel like one big experience. Does BioWare know how to break the BioWare curse?
Just as the past few years have been tough for Mass Effect, the years have been tough for BioWare. Some people even dare to say that the studio no longer delivers top titles since Dragon Age II. The last two games of BioWare in particular have had a hard time, and we’re talking about it Andromeda in Anthem.
