Mass arrests of teenagers have begun in Russia for supporting Ukrainian “terrorists” / Diena

FDD announced on Tuesday that it carried out operations against “members of radical Internet groups” in 78 regions of Russia. “Preventive and investigative measures” against 252 people, of which 156 are minors.

39 people between 14 and 35 were detained. FDD claims that they are “supporters of the activities of Ukrainian terrorist organizations banned in Russia, which have encouraged children and teenagers to commit violence against representatives of state institutions, classmates and teachers.”

The FDD also claims that nine young people were involved in preparing armed attacks on educational and religious institutions, as well as other public places. Firearms, ammunition, bomb-making materials, as well as “symbols and propaganda materials from terrorist groups” were confiscated during the search.

Allegedly, communications in the messaging program “Discord” with “Ukrainian curators” were also discovered. The FDD claims that the communication contained instructions for acts of sabotage and terrorism, as well as plans for armed attacks.
