“The Central Union of Chambers considers that the automatic way of calculating the minimum wage must in any case be accompanied by simultaneous benefits to businesses, with the relief of employer contributions and incentives to maintain and add new jobs” said the president of the Central Union of Chambers of Greece , Ioannis Masoutis, referring to the new, permanent system for determining the minimum wage, which was presented at the recent meeting of the Council of Ministers.
In a statement, KEEE states that: “The new, permanent system for determining the minimum wage, presented at the recent meeting of the Council of Ministers, clarifies the way and the procedure on this important issue, so that all actors know the evolution from the beginning of. At the same time, it increases the purchasing power of workers, especially those with the lowest incomes.
The measure, therefore, moves in the right direction, however it must be consistently accompanied by a financial and fiscal support policy for businesses, so that they can respond to the new data, but also shield their sustainability”.
Masoutis: The 16 proposals of the KEE
It is recalled, in the announcement, that the Central Union of Chambers has submitted 16 proposals to the government two months ago, among which is the reduction of corporate taxation, as a result of our joint effort to minimize tax evasion and tax avoidance, so as not to disrupt the fiscal balance.
As it is noted: “The business world also expects, in the context of the elimination of the pathologies caused to businesses by the decade of memoranda, a realistic intervention for overdue debts to the EFKA, as the current regime holds businesses hostage and deprives them of income state funds.
Finally, important issues are the provision for exemption from VAT for businesses with gross revenues up to 25,000 per year, the rationalization of ENFIA, the special care for businesses in the Region, etc.”
The Central Union of Chambers is confident that the government’s new decisions, which began with the new system of determining the minimum wage, will continue in favor of forces that stimulate the market and promote the standard of living of citizens.
