Mason Mount difficulty getting a place on the team Manchester United. MU’s legendary midfielder Paul Scholes Seeing that currently Mount is actually disturbing the balance.
Mount was brought in by Manchester United from Chelsea last summer for 55 million pounds. Initially he became a starter, starting the match in his first four Premier League appearances.
But then the MU Manager Erik ten Hag making him an option off the bench. He has always appeared in the last four matches as a substitute.
Ten Hag allegedly took this decision because pairing Mount with Bruno Fernandes made MU very vulnerable to counter-attacks. Playing Mount almost means MU sacrifices team balance.
This makes the situation for the 24 year old midfielder complicated. Because he also needs the opportunity to play to adapt and click with the rhythm of the ‘Red Devils’ game.
“It disturbs the balance of the team. It disturbs the ability he has in the middle. I really think he (Ten Hag) wants to play him with Bruno Fernandes, but when these two players play, it doesn’t feel like it’s working,” said Paul Scholes as reported Football365.
“It’s difficult to talk about Mason because he doesn’t play enough, so trying to say he should play, I don’t know, because he doesn’t play enough. If he has a series of five, six, seven, eight games, you can judge a little.”
“You have to get the balance right, that’s the big difficulty. I think Ten Hag wants to have as many strikers on the pitch as possible, which means one central midfielder and the rest are attacking players, and Mason comes in there.”
“But that takes away the strength of the midfield, leaving them completely open. Bringing someone like Mason Mount into the team almost means needing two anchors to accompany him to give the right balance to the team,” he added.
