LONDON-. the midfielder English international Mason Mount announced this Tuesday in a video on his Instagram account that he is going to leave the Chelseaat a time when the press insistently places him in the Manchester United.
“Taking into account the speculation of the last six months, it will not surprise you surely but that does not make it any easier to announce that I have decided to leave Chelsea,” explained the player.
“I know some will not like this decision, but I feel it is the right one at this point in my career,” he added.
Negotiations between Chelsea and Manchester United have been going on for weeks and they became a clash when United informed the Londoners that their third offer of 55 million pounds (64 million euros or 69.6 million dollars) was the last.
The positions seemed to come closer in the last hours and the announcement of an agreement is expected.
Chelsea has recently seen several players leave, such as Kai Havertz (heading for Arsenal), Mateo Kovacic (Manchester City) or Ruben Loftus-Cheek (AC Milan). Added to this are three who have set their course for Saudi football: N’Golo Kanté (Al Ittihad), Kalidou Koulibaly (Al Hilal) and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (Al Ahli).
