Madrid –
Mason Greenwood ready to release Manchester United. President GetafeAngel Torres, that the Red Devils would sell the player if there was an attractive offer.
Torres revealed this to Marca. He admitted that he wanted to keep Greenwood for another season, because the opportunity to hire him was open. MU are said to be willing to release the player, who is still under contract until 2025, if there is a suitable offer.
“If it’s up to the player, his parents and the club (Getafe), I think he will continue for another year,” Torres told Radio Marca.
“But about Manchester [United]news we received last week when the sports director [Getafe] he went to England to watch some games with them, he said if a good offer came in, they would want to sell him because of him he will not go back there [ke Manchester].”
Getafe themselves took Greenwood on loan last summer. The English striker was left out of the MU squad after being involved in a case of violence against his girlfriend.
With Getafe, Greenwood was welcomed. The 22-year-old now has a record 10 goals in 31 games.
“We have to wait until the end of June. The family and the players are very comfortable and very happy here with the fans,” said Torres.
“When he came here he hadn’t played for 16 months. He’s got his form back, scoring eight goals in the league and two in the Copa. The people and the coach are very happy with him. I think he will stay with us for another season, or at least until January,” he said Mason Greenwood.
