The government has agreed on a number of stricter restrictions to reduce the spread of Covid-19, such as the mandatory use of masks indoors except at home, according to unofficial information available to LTV.
This government decision means that masks will also have to be used in the workplace.
It has also been agreed that only grocery stores and pharmacies will be able to operate on weekends.
Manicure and pedicure service providers will be able to resume work.
CONTEXT:
On November 29, Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš, addressing the public about the situation of Covid-19 distribution in Latvia, announced that will encourage the extension of the emergency. The state of emergency is currently declared from 9 November to 6 December, new stricter restrictions have been introduced.

During the Covid-19 outbreak in the spring in Latvia, an emergency situation was declared to control the new coronavirus, and the situation was stable in the summer, but at the end of September the morbidity fast increased. The government tightened security measures, but the incidence of Covid-19 continued to rise.
