The cruise line Aida Cruises is following its competitor Tui Cruises and will drop the mask requirement on their ships in May. “On board, guests can look forward to numerous relaxations,” said the German market leader. “On all trips from May 27, 2022, wearing a medical mouth and nose protector on board the Aida ships is no longer mandatory.”

However, the shipping company recommends that its guests continue to wear the masks “to protect all fellow passengers”. Full Covid-19 vaccination protection for guests over the age of twelve remains a prerequisite for participating in a cruise with Aida, as does a certified antigen test for all guests over the age of three.
Aida’s competitor Tui Cruises had previously announced that the mask requirement on board the “Mein Schiff” fleet would be lifted for all summer season trips starting on May 29, 2022 (day ticket reported). Cruise guests of the subsidiary Hapag-Lloyd Cruises are already allowed to do without the previously obligatory corona masks on the shipping company’s ships. (dpa)
