Mask campaign by the St. Augustinus Group wins coveted prize

“Sew it colorfully for nose and mouth” – that was the communication campaign of the St. Augustinus Group in April and May of this year: Due to the dramatic shortage of mouth and nose masks, the health company urgently called for donations of masks. The coveted “BdKom Award” from the Federal Association of Communicators, to which around 5,000 experts belong, was presented today in Berlin for the extremely successful campaign.

“It was a real collective effort with enormous speed and team spirit,” said Christina Jacket, press spokeswoman for the St. Augustinus Group, at the award ceremony. “With combined forces from the entire region and from our entire group, we were able to implement this successful campaign without any budget.” In addition to the employees of the St. Augustinus Group, the Neusser Schützenkönig SM Kurt I. “We had prominent support and a lot of attention in the press, social media and online, ”said Christina Mantel. “Head physicians helped with the sewing instructions, programmers designed a successful website within a very short time, receptionists took over the 24-hour hotline and coordinated the collection and distribution of mask donations with great dedication.” More than 10,000 colorful masks came together within five weeks. They were urgently needed, especially in the facilities for elderly and disabled people.

In total, more than 70 companies, organizations and associations competed for the award from the Federal Association of Communicators in the categories “Digital Communication”, “Team of the Year”, “Crisis Communication” and “Low Budget”. Virologist Prof. Christian Drosten also received an honorary award for outstanding communication for his educational and informational work about Covid-19. “As a provider in the social and health sector, we are in the very best of company,” says Christina Jacket, happily representing her team and everyone involved in the success.
