MASITA: when the authorities wear “counterfeit” jerseys

CONAKRY- The images of the transitional authorities practicing sport on Thursday at the Mohamed V Palace, after the traditional Council of Ministers, went around the world. If this reunion process is appreciated by Guineans, an event seems to spoil the party. Indeed, the problem observed is that the first authority of the country and his close collaborators wore a “counterfeit” of jerseys from the Dutch equipment manufacturer “Masita”, we learn.

An act described as amateurism that Guinean officials and observers deplore. Especially since this brand is the official equipment supplier that dresses the Guinean national teams even if CONOR, installed at the head of the Guinean Football Federation, says it has broken the contract with Masita.

Thursday, May 4, 2023, the members of the government and the man of September 5, went to the sports hall of the Palace Mohamed V after the weekly council of ministers. This gesture is appreciated by more than one because it promotes the sport, but has been decried by others who have made an alarming observation. And it is the jerseys worn for the occasion by the current authorities of the country that are singled out. After verification, it turned out that the Guinean ministers wore counterfeit jerseys from the Dutch equipment manufacturer “Masita”.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the authorities have committed such acts. We remember before the start of the last CAN in Cameroon, the president of the transition had worn a different tunic from that of the official equipment supplier of the Syli National of Guinea. Set aside for violations of the clauses of the contract, Masita through his responsibilities, has already seized FIFA for abusive and unilateral breach, according to our information. FIFA’s reaction is expected to tell the truth in this case.
