Member of the DPR from the PDIP faction, Masinton Pasaribu claimed to have information related to the alleged fundraising (fund rising) to finance discourse 2024 election postponement from the alleged corruption case in granting crude palm oil export permits (Crude Palm Oil/CPO).

According to him, this is an important part of the current investigation by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). Therefore, the member of Commission XI of the DPR also requested that the AGO investigators investigate the alleged information.

“Yes, I have information that conveyed to me that he gave a signal, suspecting that part of the scarcity of cooking oil and then the price was made expensive and they prioritized exports because of their needs. fundraising. To maintain and postpone the election,” Masinton told reporters in Jakarta, Saturday (23/4).

On this occasion, Masinton was reluctant to explain in more detail the origin of the information he obtained. However, he claims to be conducting further investigations and checks regarding this matter.

According to him, it is important that the corruption scandal in granting CPO export permits is exposed to the roots. Including, certain interests that became the motive of the scandal.

“The name is information, we have to study it, we have to verify it. But we also can’t ignore the information,” said Masinton.

Masinton detailed that the allegations could be related to the declarations made by a number of plasma farmers to support the extension of the presidential term.

Then, Senior Manager Corporate Affairs of PT Pelita Agung Agrindustri/Permata Hijau Group, Stanley MA; and General Manager of PT Musim Mas General Affair Division, Picare Tagore Sitanggang as suspects.

This case was investigated by the Prosecutor from January 2021 to March 2022. At that time, the government through the Ministry of Trade adopted a Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) and Domestic Price Obligation (DPO) policy so that companies exporting oil could be regulated.

Regarding the issue of postponing the election, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri has firmly stated that she rejects the discourse.

In addition, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also emphasized that the 2024 elections would still be held according to the schedule, where he had appointed the election organizers.

Jokowi has also stressed to his ministers to stop talking about postponing the election or extending the presidential term.
