As he notes, Israel’s retaliatory strike against Iran, as confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), came amid serious and rising regional tensions.
While recognizing Israel’s right to self-defense, the EU calls on all parties to show maximum restraint to avoid an uncontrolled escalation, which is in no one’s interest, Ms. Masraeli added.
The EU remains fully committed to reducing tensions and contributing to de-escalation and to this end remains in close contact with all relevant actors it concludes.
