NEW PHOTOS – The new one returns to be seen on the road Maserati GranTurismo, whose development is nearing its final stages, before its official presentation scheduled for later this year. This time the prototype was sighted in Italy at a test track. Compared to the shots released last June, the new images published by Carscoops show the car body more clearly.
THE THERMAL MOTOR CONFIRMED – The new generation of Maserati GranTurismo it will also be available for the first time in a fully electric version, the only one already confirmed by the Modena manufacturer. This will go alongside a more classic one with an internal combustion engine, on which, on the other hand, there is a more strict reserve: to unmask it, however, there are the spy images that portray a specimen equipped with an exhaust system with four terminals (in the photo above). The motor chosen should be a modified version of the V6 Neptune used for the MC20, while the floor, according to rumors, should be derived from the “Giorgio” of Alfa Romeo, but with several changes especially in the front.
CLASSIC LINE – Despite the camouflage, it can be seen as the new Maserati GranTusrismo maintains the layout and proportions of the previous model, born in 2007 and out of production in 2020. It will be a 2 + 2 coupe just under 5 meters long with sinuous lines and a front dominated, as well as by the iconic trident, also by the LED headlights which in shape are reminiscent of those of the MC20. There is also a sculpted bumper where there are two generous air intakes positioned on the side of the grille. The lateral line appears low and rounded and the tail is characterized by a very inclined windshield and by “sharp” design headlights.
2022 YEAR OF RENEWAL – The Maserati GranTurismo, which will be marketed in the course of 2022, should be joined later by the version with a canvas roof called GranCabrio. Both are part of the relaunch plan of the Trident house which, again next year, will see the arrival of another model, even more important: the Maserati Grecale suv (who to know more).
