Police Searching for Suspects in Case of Maryland Garbage Collector Shot to Death

Police in Maryland have released photos of the suspects and the car involved in the broad-daylight murder of a garbage collector. Idongesit Udosen, 30, was fatally shot last week in Hyattsville, Maryland, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Incident Details

On Thursday, April 4, at around 3:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting and discovered Udosen “in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds.” Despite immediate medical attention, Udosen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Photos and Vehicle Description Released

Prince George’s County Police Department released pictures of the suspects and video of the gray Kia sedan vehicle they used in the murder.

According to the video footage, two suspects exited the car and shot Udosen as he arrived on the scene in a garbage truck. The suspects then fled the area. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspects.

A Motive Yet to Be Determined

While detectives are working to determine a motive for the crime, they do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence.

Reward Offered for Information

An award of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects involved in Udosen’s murder. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Prince George’s County Homicide Unit at 301-516-2512 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477, referencing case number 24-0019420.
