New Delhi: Boxing star Mary Kom has stepped down from the leadership position (chef de mission) of the Indian team at the Paris Olympics. She said she was stepping down due to personal reasons. Indian Olympic Association (OAA) President P.T. Usha said on Friday. “It is a great honor to be selected as the leader of the Indian team at the Olympics. He was mentally prepared to perform this task. However, due to personal reasons this duty cannot be performed.’ Mary Kom wrote in the letter.
