Marvin Neher remains a defender at EHC Freiburg

Despite a lot of bad luck with injuries, the 24-year-old was able to set a new record recently

The wolves from EHC Freiburg were able to present the next contract extension for one of their top performers on Thursday (04/14/2022). The 24-year-old defensive professional Marvin Neher will also go onto the ice for the wolves in the coming season.

At the age of 20, Neher moved from league rivals Bayreuth to Breisgau and has now completed his fifth season there in the Freiburg jersey. Most recently, despite several injury breaks, he was able to set a new record in his ice hockey career with eleven points.

Head coach Robert Hoffmann also emphasizes that Neher came back stronger than ever after his first injury and was then slowed down again. Nevertheless, from the coach’s point of view, he developed excellently and developed an inclination for points. Overall, the defender is an extremely important pillar in the team’s defence.

Squad for the coming DEL2 season is gradually emerging

EHC sports director Peter Salmik agrees with this assessment and is confident that Neher will be able to play an injury-free season again after his operation and will be an even greater support in the Wolves squad.

After Patrik Cerveny, Marvin Neher is the second player from the past season to extend his contract for the coming season. Otherwise, no further details were made public about the exact contents of the contract in either case.
