At Comic-Con, the Marvel company organized special panel Designing the X-Men: A This Week in Marvel Special Event. It revealed a few details of the animated series “X-Men ’97”.
The event was attended not only by executive producer Bo DeMaio, but also by other authors of the show. Some of them worked on the original 1992 X-Men series.
According to them, the sequel will be a “love letter” for the creators and fans of the animated show. History, as they noted, is written by real fans of the original and the X-Men. The creative team has clear ideas about what story they want to tell.
For example, they talked about working on the character Cyclops. After all, part of his emotions cannot be conveyed because of the visor on his face. Therefore, the creators figured out how to work with the reflections on his glasses, jaw movements and body position.
In addition, the authors showed a small fragment to the fans present. Apparently, the reaction was positive.
Further, as the producer said, they showed a certain scene with the Cyclops. She vividly showed why he is the leader in the team.
According to DeMaio, production is going very well. Now the work on the first season is coming to an end, and the authors are finishing writing the finale of the second. Previously, the creators showed images with key characters.
