Insomniac Games has included a security feature in Wolverine’s code that allows you to precisely determine who runs the game on different devices. Some Internet users are now receiving DMCA notices.
Insomniac Games is able to determine who has enabled a “fully playable” version of Wolverine on PC. The game files were part of the data stolen from the servers, and there are indications that some people were tracked down by the developers.

According to the PlayStarion studio’s release schedule, Wolverine would debut only in 2026. However, the creators have their hands full, working on several full-fledged productions and expansions – next year Spider-Man 2 is to receive a series of expansions, while the disclosed data indicate that Spider-Man Venom will debut in 2025.
Developers have added a simple security feature to Wolverine’s playable code on PC – when turned on, the game connects to the Insomniac Games servers and presents user data. Sony Studio probably wanted to be sure who works when and how they carry out assigned tasks.
Wolverine’s code was stolen and ended up in the hands of players. Users check the title while providing the studio with a number of data about themselves – the company uses the information and sends copyright infringement (DMCA) notices.

The case seems very interesting for legal reasons. It is difficult to say whether Insomniac Games will take further steps, but the developers undoubtedly received data on how many players tried to launch the production.
