Developers from Insomniac Games released new gameplay footage of the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at last week’s State of Play event. Now, via an interview with the magazine Gamesindustry.biz they receive information about game time. The game’s creative director, Bryan Intihar, revealed that the new installment will feature roughly the same playing time as its 2018 predecessor.
The length of the first game is according to the data on the website HowLongToBeat ranged from 5pm (main story), 25.5 hours (main and side missions) and 34.5 hours (complete playthrough). Regarding the playing time, Intihar pointed out that the team did not have a predetermined specific length, but they mainly tried to ensure that the story of the game was balanced and sufficiently interesting throughout.
About game time in an interview for the website VG247 game director Ryan Smith also expressed. He emphasized that the developers’ goal was not to create a 70 or 80 hour long title. Instead, he said, Insomniac focused on making each mission truly memorable. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is released on October 20 exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console.
