Despite a strong critical and public reception, ‘Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy‘ was below the estimates of the Square Enix at launch.
The game seems to have suffered especially from the distrust caused by ‘Marvel’s Avengers‘.
“The HD Games sub-segment launched Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in Q3. Despite strong reviews, sales at launch did not meet our initial expectations.”
Yosuke Matsuda stated in a tax report.
“However, we also noticed that there was sales growth soon after, and we intend to work to continue expanding that, compensating for the slower start.”
