Black Widow and Captain America, founding members of the Avengers have not always been allies. In Civil Warthey even had to fight a fierce battle.
Within the MCU, Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff had a beautiful and long life, between solo feature films and great superheroic meetings. If they both had a remarkable destiny within the team of Avengers, the Marvel Universe seems to be done with them. Kevin Feige and his team have also offered them both a good end: one has experienced the ultimate sacrifice to save his comrades while the other is a peaceful retiree, relieved of the weight of his shield.
Only the first two Avengers remain the most charismatic characters of the MCU and that even today, we feed on anecdotes on their trajectory. Recently, James Young, a stuntman told in a video posted on the Youtube channel Corridor Crew qu’an incredible fight scene had been shot between the Cape and the Black Widow for Captain America : Civil War.
Fighting isn’t just about naughty boys!
As a reminder, Civil War depicts a major political confrontation between two aspiring leaders of the Avengers : Iron Man, ready to submit to an international committee responsible for monitoring superheroes and Captain America, champion of the American model, very attached to his personal freedom. The vigilantes divide: Black Widow joins Tony Stark’s group. During a confrontation between the two superheroic factions in an airport, Natasha lets Cape Town slip away… But the story could have been very different.
Like heroes in a cage
According to James Young, an epic battle scene was shot between Black Widow and Captain America, on the roof of the airport. A fight scene. Young explains that the writers had imagined up to a hundred possible combinations to make different Avengers between them. In the end, it was Rogers and Romanoff who had to fight… before she let him escape anyway. The scene was eventually deleted during editing. In the end, we will never know who won this fight… Or even why the scene was removed.

The rest, we know it: the superheroes have again agreed to team up against Thanos, despite their differences. For the moment, the story of Black Widow and Captain America seems to be over… Unless the multiverse comes to upset everything. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the next film of Phase 4 of the Marvel universe should allow us to see more clearly the possibilities offered by this tool (very practical on the scriptwriting level, but a little risky). The film is expected for the May 4, 2022
