Ma’ruf Amin Launches National Movement Against Osteoporosis

JawaPos.com – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin officially launched the National Movement Against Osteoporosis initiated by the Association of Indonesian Healthy Bone Citizens (Perwatusi) on Saturday, (23/10). The launching of the National Movement Against Osteoporosis was held annually hybrid and attended by thousands of participants from all over the country with the center of activity in Ancol Dreamland, North Jakarta.

On that occasion, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin expressed his full support for all the efforts of institutions such as Perwatusi which actively and productively assist the government in achieving the nation’s ideals, namely a healthy and productive Indonesia.

“In 2021, the Association of Indonesian Healthy Bone Citizens, or Perwatusi, has chosen a very strategic theme to support the ideals of the Indonesian nation towards a healthy, strong and productive Indonesia, namely the National Movement Against Osteoporosis,” said Vice President Ma’ruf Amin who was present at the event. virtual.

Ma’ruf Amin said that Osteoporosis does not only target one in three women in Indonesia, but also men. Many fathers have been affected by this bone loss disease.

“That’s why the National Movement Against Oteoporosis is important for us to support together by all levels of society, because this movement is not only aimed at treating but more importantly prevention, both with exercise activities and daily nutritional intake,” said Ma’ruf Amin.

A number of figures attended virtually and supported the activities of the National Movement Against Osteoporosis, including Deputy Minister of Health Prof. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, who said the importance of this national movement was carried out because one in three women will be affected by Osteoporosis.

The same support was also delivered virtually by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno. According to him, community activities such as those carried out by Perwatusi are not only for health purposes.

“But more than that, this community sports activity can also encourage the people’s economy and tourism,” said Sandiaga.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of Perwatusi Anita Hutagalung said that October 20 is celebrated by the world community as World Osteoporosis Day which in Indonesia is known as National Osteoporosis Day.

“This annual commemoration will continue to be carried out to make Indonesian people aware of the importance of knowing how to prevent and also deal with this disease of bone loss or Osteoporosis,” he explained.

Anita Hutagalung also conveyed about the innovations and gymnastics activities as well as the socialization carried out by Perwatusi in collaboration with all parties, both private and government institutions with the main goal of continuing to make people aware of this disease, both with exercise and nutritional intake every day.

“This series of events will not stop at today’s declaration, the determination of the National Movement Against Oteoporosis will continue to roll with various activities in all regions and will also be lowered into the Regional Movement Against Osteoporosis so that efforts to prevent and control osteoporosis can maximally reach all levels of society, said Anta Hutagalung.

Chairperson of the National Osteoporosis Day Committee, Perwatusi Sitti Nur Azizah, said that the launching event was attended by more than 3,000 participants from 13 regional management boards and 34 Branch Management Boards in a Hybrid manner and in accordance with health protocols in their respective regions.

“In this celebration, Osteodance Perwatusi was also introduced which targets young people as a preventive measure for bone health and productivity of the next generation,” said Sitti Nur Azizah.

Present at the National Osteoporosis Day were Perwatusi Silvana General Secretary, HON 2021 Implementing Committee Chairman Sitti nurazizah Maruf Amin, Perwatusi Supervisory Board Errol Hutagalaung, Perwatusi Vice Chairman Andi Kurniawan, Perwatusi Deputy Chairman Ade Tobing and Perwatusi Supervisory Board Farhat Brachma, and Perwatusi General Chairman KORMI National Hayono Isman.
